Inspiring today's learners to thrive in tomorrow's world.
Waverley Primary School is a full primary catering for students from Year One to Year Eight. Our School is situated midway between Whanganui and Hawera, in South Taranaki. We are committed to working closely with the Ngā Rauru iwi.
We have six learning hubs and 7 full-time teachers on staff; which enables us to maintain great class sizes. Manuka Hub - New Entrants / Year 1 Tawa Hub - Year 2/3 Kowhai Hub - Year 4/5 Kauri Hub - Year 6 Rimu Hub - Year 7/8
Our learners are involved in highly engaging learning activities and solve problems in collaborative learning environments. They effectively use a range of digital technologies as a platform to enhance their learning.
At Waverley Primary we are proudly a PB4L-School Wide school. Expectations for behaviour are taught, modelled and reinforced in a positive way by all of our staff, learners and wider community. Our three values that are vital to this aspect of our school are Respect Self, Respect Others and Respect Environment.
We are a health promoting school. All students take part in daily fitness, with coaching for many sports happening throughout the year. Many of our students are involved in sports during the week and on Saturdays. We are very proud of the sporting achievements of our children and we value the effort and dedication of our coaches.
We encourage our learners to have rubbish free lunch boxes - we offer recycling bins at our school; so any non-recyclable waste brought into school needs to be taken home again.
